Color me handsome: why color and grey blending are great for men

Men. If you haven’t treated yourself to a color service yet, we have just two words for you: Why not? If it’s because you’re worried about the prohibitive price, you don’t think you have time—or maybe you even like your distinguished grey hair—we have great news for you. Juut Salon recently launched a new Aveda color service for men called grey blending. (And P.S., women love this quick, convenient treatment, too.)

As the best salons across the country, with locations in Tempe, Scottsdale, Palo Alto, Edina, St. Paul, Wayzata, Minneapolis, Woodbury and Roseville, we’re the experts in men’s grooming. And we are thrilled to say this is one of the best men’s services we now offer.

Not only is grey blending a quick way to enhance your natural salt-and-pepper hair while shaving a few years off your overall look, it also shatters any preconceived ideas you might have about hair color. Let’s go through them one by one.

Myth one: Men who color their hair are insecure.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. Men who embrace hair color gain confidence by sporting a color that makes them feel good about themselves. The right hair color can actually express your unique personality. And it doesn’t mean covering up what you already have.

For example, grey blending is a subtle way to enhance your silver hairs. Basically, if you have patches of white, silver and grey scattered across your hair, grey blending is a way to even out the tone and bring cohesive look to your hair. In short, it enhances what you already have. But don’t take our word for it—check out the before and after.

Myth two: Color is bad for your hair.

If you’re using box dye, then this can be true. But if you see a professional at Juut, color has just the opposite effect. Aveda’s 95 percent naturally derived formula actually leaves hair in better condition than it was prior to coloring. Nourishing ingredients including sunflower, castor and jojoba oils make hair shiny, manageable and healthy. In short, every day becomes a good hair day.

Myth three: Color appointments and maintenance take up too much time.

Grey blending won’t alter your schedule. It’s a discreet five-minute service that can be performed at the shampoo bowl before your cut. Your stylist will comb one of five pre-blended shades through your hair, let it sit for five minutes, and then wash it out. It’s no more time-consuming than a deep-conditioning treatment. And you don’t have to worry about maintenance or obvious roots—grey blending is a demi-permanent color, which means it fades out gradually over the course of a month. Once that time is up, you can return to your regular color, or re-up your grey blending with your next trim.

Myth four: Color is expensive.

Grey blending only costs $30. (That’s way less than a new shirt—and you wear your hair every day.)

Convinced? Come over to Juut Salon Spa. Whether you’re a man or a woman, we think you’ll love the results you get from color—and they can be as subtle or as striking as you please.
