A patch test is a small sample of hair color applied to a discreet area of your skin (typically behind the ear or on the inside of the elbow). This test helps us ensure that the hair color is safe for you to use, as some people may have sensitivities or allergic reactions to certain ingredients in hair color.
While rare, allergic reactions to hair color can occur. Symptoms might include itching, swelling, redness, or even more severe reactions. The patch test helps reduce these risks by allowing us to identify any sensitivities before applying color to your entire head.
We offer a patch test to every client, every time, any time. You may especially consider a patch test if you are coloring your hair for the first time or haven’t had color services in a while.
If you would like a patch test, you may book one with us at any time. This service does need to be scheduled and should be completed 24 hours prior to a hair color service occurring. If you would like to schedule a complimentary patch test, please call or text the salon to reserve an appointment for you.
