Our moms lift us up, love us without condition, and encourage us to live fully. It’s why we embrace Mother’s Day—this opportunity to center our moms and express how much they mean to us. And the greatest gift of all: Creating lasting memories together.
Looking for a heart-centered way to celebrate your mom this Sunday? Our artists share how they uplift the people who matter most.
Wander the Como Park Conservatory
Like so many, Saint Paul stylist Delaney recalls a Mother’s Day trip to Gertens. Her mom selected flowers and, together, they weeded and planted as a family—bringing life to her pots and gardens.
The day began, however, with a healthy dose of inspiration.
“We went to the Como Conservatory and looked at all the flowers,” says Delaney. “It’s one of my mom’s happy places. Her favorite room there is the fern room. She loves how they look when they are first unwinding.”

“Como has very summery vibes,” she continues. “You’re able to see all types of plants. It’s very grounding. You also don’t need to worry about the weather—it’s open rain or shine.”
If your mom has a green thumb, she might enjoy wandering over to the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory for the Gardener Chat at 1:00 pm. Como gardeners will share their work and invite gardening questions from the audience.
Dine al fresco
Saint Paul esthetician Liza shares that her mom was, “anti-commercial holiday. However, she made sure to celebrate herself and us and life in general at any time of the year with a great dinner and a bottle of champagne.”
A mom herself, Liza embraces her mother’s love of food-as-celebration today, noting that dining out can be a wonderful way to slow down and connect with the people we care about. A beautifully prepared meal is, after all, an expression of love for so many.
Looking for a new spot?
Liza suggests giving Porzana in Minneapolis a try. “Best food, great location, super cute patio,” she says.

Daniel del Prado is the creative genius behind this Argentinian steakhouse, and he creates an unforgettable dining experience.
You might consider starting with the oysters served with bone marrow flambadou and the Caesar salad that inventively plays on the crouton with deep-fried oysters. We also recommend venturing into the Argentinian cuts on the restaurant’s steak menu. The tapa de vacio is lovely, especially when paired with the papas alpastadas—crisped potato with beurre blanc, bacon, and Parmesan.
Mother’s Day reservations are still available.
Create a lasting game-day tradition
As baseball legend Yogi Berra once said, “Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good, too.” This Mother’s Day, why not celebrate both?
“Target Field is a great place to make memories,” says Roseville nail technician and massage therapist Maria.
“For as long as I can remember, I have been going to Twins games with my mom for Mother’s Day. We put our favorite Twins gear on, we spend the day at the ballpark, we eat, we take pictures, we always have a blast.”

This Mother’s Day, the Minnesota Twins take on the San Francisco Giants on what looks to be a beautiful day for baseball, and there are lots of memory-making opportunities to be had.
Before game time, families are invited to wander over to Target Field Plaza for free face painting and games. And afterward, they can make their way to the field where children 12 and under can channel their inner Byron Buxton and run the bases.
First pitch is at 1:10 pm, and there are plenty of seats still available through the Twins ticket office. Want to make the day really special? Consider seats in the Thrivent Club. These season ticket holder seats are only available through resellers, and they offer in-seat food and beverage service, as well as access to decades of Twins memorabilia.
It’s a day so meaningful, it can span generations for some.
Says Maria, “When I became a mom and was able to bring my daughter to the game for the first time with my mother, it was by far the most special Mother’s Day.”
The greatest gift you can give
It’s time.
However you choose to celebrate your mom this Sunday, know that centering her, sharing in her passions, and giving her your love and attention will create memories that last a lifetime.
